GAME4PEACE alumnus Jerome Oates, a native of South Central Los Angeles, has lived a life marked by extreme challenges and profound transformation. With 35 years of his life spent incarcerated, Jerome’s story is one of survival, redemption, and relentless pursuit of peace.

As a former member of the 52 Hoover Gangster Crips, Jerome’s early years were marred by violence and chaos, culminating in his survival of the infamous 1984 54th Street gang massacre. His life was further scarred by an attempted murder on him by the LAPD, highlighting the harsh realities he faced.

Jerome’s time in prison became a turning point, leading him to reflect deeply on his past actions and their impact on others. This period of introspection and growth set him on a transformative path. Upon serving his life sentence, Jerome emerged with a renewed purpose: to foster peace and inspire change in the hearts and minds of those around him.

Today, Jerome Oates dedicates his life to being a beacon of hope and change.
