Georgette King
Game 4 P.E.A.C.E alumnus Georgette King, born in Philadelphia, is the visionary Founder and CEO of the Creative Kids Club, Inc., a nonprofit organization established in 1996. The inception of the Creative Kids Club was sparked by a group of children in need of engaging activities but limited by financial constraints. Georgette and the youth group organized the club’s first trip to a free grandparents’ festival in Fort Washington, PA. This trip, attended by four families, marked the beginning of what has grown into an inclusive community with over 75 families today.
Under Georgette’s leadership, the Creative Kids Club has thrived by promoting creativity among its members through art workshops, recreational activities, and cultural events. The club embraces diversity, welcoming youth from various socioeconomic backgrounds, religious beliefs, and family structures, including foster children, those cared for by grandparents, and children from single or two-parent homes. Special attention is given to developmentally delayed children, integrating them into club activities to boost their self-esteem and fostering enriching interactions between these children and seniors.
Georgette’s innovative approach extends to the club’s structured developmentally appropriate programs, aimed at providing recreational services, interactive activities, and training workshops. Her belief that “Achievers Are Believers that Create their own Destinies” led to the creation of “S.W.I.M” (Spoken Words In Motion) in 2001. This program has empowered men, women, and children to navigate life’s challenges by using their talents to express emotions, set goals, and realize dreams.
Through her dedication and vision, Georgette King continues to inspire and empower families, making a lasting impact on her community by providing fun, educational, and creative opportunities for all. The Creative Kids Club stands by its motto: “You Provide the Family, We’ll Provide the Fun.”
