Brother Kofi Atiba Kwesi

Game 4 PEACE alumnus Kofi Atiba Kwesi, born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and known to most as Atiba, is the embodiment of a revolutionary. Defined by his fearless advocacy for radical change, Atiba’s journey from wrongful imprisonment to community leadership is a testament to resilience and dedication.

After being imprisoned for 16 years for a crime he didn’t commit, Atiba became a self-taught paralegal, ultimately securing his freedom and winning a $50,000 settlement through his organization, “And Justice For All.” This victory opened the door for 6,000 other prisoners to follow in his footsteps.

As the Founder and CEO of Revolutionary Vision, Atiba’s mission is to create freedom through self-awareness, self-esteem, economic education, and cultural awareness, aiming to eliminate generational poverty, daily violence, and psychological trauma.

Atiba’s work extends to his role as the “Black Men in Charge!” branch of Game 4 P.E.A.C.E Philly, where he leads efforts to dismantle the “Pipeline to Prison,” heal community traumas, and rebuild Black neighborhoods by providing training and opportunities often inaccessible due to financial barriers.

In recognition of his efforts, Atiba was honored with an award from The Brothers & House of Pearls on December 17th, 2022.

Additionally, Kofi Atiba Kwesi was sworn in as an Honorary Deputy and Community Sheriff by the Office of the Sheriff of Philadelphia, Rochelle Bilal. As part of this role, Atiba will be responsible for:

– Preserving public safety through innovative and progressive service in partnership with the community.
– Serving as a liaison between the public and the Sheriff’s Office to help resolve community problems.
– Leading special projects on matters of community relations and partnership building.
– Acting as a referral source for citizens in need of services.
– Providing safety talks to local schools, churches, groups, organizations, and businesses.

Despite his significant professional commitments, Atiba values his faith in Allah and his family above all. He finds immense joy in being a father and grandfather, teaching his grandchildren the rich history of the Ashante after being acknowledged as a member of the Abusua (Asante Family Clan) known as the Bretuo during his travels to Ghana, Africa.

Atiba is also honored as the Akyeame to Nana Kofi Tuuda, Philadelphiahene Ashanti Nation, and serves as the Founder/Chairman of the West Philly Voting Blocc.

Kofi Atiba Kwesi’s story is one of profound transformation and unyielding commitment to community empowerment. His journey is a powerful reminder that true leadership is measured not by the height one has risen, but by the depth from which one has climbed.
