Above the Law, consisting of Big Hutch, KMG the toIllustrator (Kevin Michael Gulley), and DJ Total K-Oss (Anthony Stewart), became pioneers of the G-funk sound, blending funk, soul, and hip-hop elements into a distinct West Coast style. Their debut album, “Livin’ Like Hustlers,” released in 1990 under Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records, is considered a classic of the genre.
