Game 4 P.E.A.C.E alumnus Nate Williams, born in Compton, CA, is the Founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit organization, Choices for Freedom. At the age of 17, Nate was sentenced as an adult and spent 32 years in the prison system. During his incarceration, he dedicated himself to creating change, working towards the rehabilitation of himself, other inmates, and the prison system. His impactful efforts drew the support of notable figures like Harry Belafonte, Danny Glover, and Michelle Alexander, who helped secure his release.

After returning to his family, Nate founded Choices for Freedom to promote social and criminal justice reform. He works directly with incarcerated individuals to facilitate their rehabilitation and healing, advocating for systemic changes through legislative efforts such as the Youth Offender Parole. Nate’s work includes contracts with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, youth arts programs, and partnerships with agencies to reunite youth with their incarcerated fathers, provide literacy programs, and mentor youth in Los Angeles and Alameda Counties.

Nate holds a BA from CIIS Institute and graduated from Stanford University’s ReMade entrepreneurial program. He actively lectures, mentors, and engages deeply with his community, remaining persistent in his pursuit of criminal justice reform.
